How to Create Community Learning Reviews
Published November 6, 2026
Learning reviews help members connect activities to progress, identify obstacles, and choose a realistic next step.
A learning review is a short reflection on what someone tried, what they understood, where they struggled, and what they plan to do next. It can support individual progress and help a community improve its learning resources.
Keep the format simple. A few questions are enough: What did you try? What helped? What remains unclear? What will you do next?
Focus on process rather than performance. A difficult attempt can contain valuable learning even when the final result is incomplete.
Invite examples. A link, short explanation, or description of an obstacle makes the review easier for others to understand and respond to.
Allow different levels of detail. Some members may write a paragraph, while others need only a few sentences. Flexible formats make the practice sustainable.
Respond with curiosity. Ask a follow-up, share a related resource, or acknowledge progress before suggesting changes. The goal is to support learning rather than grade the person.
Use repeated reviews to notice patterns. If many members struggle with the same step, the community may need a clearer guide, more examples, or a different learning format.
