How to Create Community Action Reviews
Published November 6, 2026
An action review helps a community understand what changed, what was learned, and which next step is worth taking.
An action review connects a community’s commitments with their real effects. It asks more than whether a task was completed; it asks whether the task helped.
Begin with the original goal. Reviewers need to remember what the action was intended to improve or make possible.
Describe what happened clearly. Include timing, scope, participation, and any changes from the original plan.
Listen to the people affected. A completed task may still create confusion, access problems, or unexpected benefits.
Separate evidence from interpretation. This gives members room to understand the result before deciding what it means.
Choose a practical next step. The community may continue, revise, pause, or close the action based on what it learned.
Action reviews strengthen accountability without blame. They turn commitments into shared learning and make future decisions more thoughtful.
