How to Build Community Knowledge Hubs

Published November 6, 2026

A knowledge hub brings related guides, conversations, people, and next steps together so members can find a clear route through a subject.

A knowledge hub should make a subject easier to explore without pretending that one page can answer every question. Its job is to create orientation.

Start with the questions members bring most often. These questions can shape the hub’s categories, summaries, and recommended starting points.

Connect different kinds of material. Guides, examples, events, discussions, and people can each serve a different stage of learning.

Use clear labels. Members should understand whether a link offers an introduction, practical help, deeper research, or a place to ask questions.

Keep the first view simple. A small number of useful paths is more welcoming than a crowded page containing every possible resource.

Review the hub as the community changes. New questions, outdated links, and different audiences may require the structure to evolve.

A knowledge hub is successful when it helps members move from uncertainty to a useful next action.
